UN Humanitarian Relief Funds Allocate US$9.5 Million to Contain the Spread of Cholera in Lebanon
  • Beirut, 10 November 2022 – In response to the cholera outbreak declared on 6 October and which continues to spread across the country, the United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator in Lebanon, Mr. Imran Riza, announced today that the United Nations Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF) and Lebanon Humanitarian Fund (LHF) have together allocated a total of US$9.5 million to prevent the spread of cholera.

  • Beirut, Lebanon -- Friday, 25 November 2022 (United Nations, GBV WG, GWG and NCLW) - Today begins the global 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) (25 November -10 December). On this occasion, the United Nations System in Lebanon, the Gender Working Group (GWG), the Gender-Based Violence Working Group (GBV WG) and the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW) are joining forces, to create awareness and momentum to prevent and eliminate Violence against Women and Girls (VAWG) and catalyze change.

UN-Habitat and the National Commission for Lebanese Women launch the National Implementation of the Women and Land Campaign in Lebanon
  • Beirut, 09 December 2022. UN-Habitat Lebanon Country Programme and the National Commission for Lebanese Women (NCLW) launched the National Women and Land Campaign in Lebanon, through a roundtable event in Beirut. Gathering key stakeholders, media, women’s organizations, and legal entities, the event shed important light on the legal context of women’s rights to housing, land, and property (HLP rights) in Lebanon.
