UN agencies and Government warn acute food insecurity is likely to deepen without sustained and timely humanitarian and livelihood support
- BEIRUT, Lebanon – A sharp escalation in violence has reversed recent food security gains in Lebanon and pushed the country back into crisis. This is according to the latest Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) projected analysis released by the Ministry of Agriculture, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Food Programme (WFP).

- Beirut, 22 April 2026 - UNOPS is pleased to announce the launch of the Call for Proposals (CfP) for the Operational Management and Maintenance of the Bourj Hammoud Community Center, as part of the Sustainable Integrated Municipal Actions (SIMA) project. This project is funded by the German Government through KfW Development Bank and is implemented by UNOPS, in partnership with the Municipality of Bourj Hammoud.

- NEW YORK, 9 April 2026 – The intensification of hostilities in Lebanon continues to exact a devastating and inhumane toll on children. In just minutes yesterday, as news of a regional ceasefire agreement briefly ignited hope across the country, deadly Israeli airstrikes struck across Lebanon, reportedly killing 33 children and injuring 153.
The first strike landed 600 meters from Imran Riza’s office. The second came closer, just 200 meters away.
Beirut, 28 March 2026 -- Since 2 March 2026, at least 75 attacks affecting health care in Lebanon have been reported, resulting in 51 deaths and 126 injuries among on-duty healthcare personnel. These attacks have damaged critical health infrastructure, disrupted essential services, and further limited access to lifesaving care for communities already under immense strain.
